SPECIFICATIONS
RapidCup is manufactured by the world's leader
in drugs-of-abuse testing and offers a complete
urine collection and drugs-of-abuse testing panel
all in one cup. This simple, single use device
allows
urine to be collected and tested with no sample
handling. The RapidCup.com AutoSplit Drug Test
Cup
simultaneously provides accurate, rapid and easy-to-read
results with no timing required. The RapidCup.com®
AutoSplit KO Test Cup integrates speed and
accuracy in the integrated drug test kit. Sample
collection and testing is secure - the test is
inaccessible to the donor and is triggered with
the separate
key only when the operator chooses. Interpreting
the test is secure - the peel-off label keeps
results
confidential until the appropriate time. Transporting
the sample is secure - the screw-top lid includes
a rubber o-ring seal and tamper-evident locking
tab.
No Sample Handling Required!
Unlike other tests, RapidCup requires no tipping,
no dipping, no sample handling or manipulation,
just collect ¼ cup of urine, secure the tamper-evident
lid and read the results
. IN JUST 5 MINUTES!
SUMMARY AND PRINCIPLE OR PROCEDURE
The
RapidCup.com AutoSplit Integrated Test Cup employs
solid-phase immunoassay technology to discretely
detect the presence of any of the 10 specified
drugs
in human urine. The device contains up to 10 test
strips, 1 for each of the specified drugs (Click
here for information about each of these drugs
and
their effects: marijuana,
cocaine,
opiates,
methamphetamine,
PCP,
and amphetamine.)
Rotating the lid to the testing position activates
the plunger in the isolation chamber, which causes
urine to be transferred to the chamber containing
the test strips. The remaining sample is retained
for use in confirmatory tests.
The
RapidCup test strips work based upon competition
for limited antibody binding sites between an immobilized
drug-protein conjugate and the drug that may be
present in the urine sample. Drugs which may be
present in the urine specimen compete against their
respective drug conjugate for binding sites on the
specific antibody. As the urine sample migrates
up the test strip, a portion of the sample forms
a complex with the antibody-dye conjugate specific
for that drug. The complex migrates to the "test
result" region containing an immobilized drug-protein
conjugate. A drug, if present in the urine specimen
below its cut-off concentration, will not saturate
the binding sites of its specific antibody. The
antibody will then react with the drug-protein conjugate
and a visible colored line will show up in the test
line region of the specific drug strip. The presence
of drug above the cut-off concentration will saturate
all the binding site of the antibody. Therefore,
the colored line will not form in the test line
region if the drug concentration level in above
the cut-off level. If no drug is present in the
sample, the antibody-dye conjugate will attach to
the immobilized drug-protein conjugate, causing
a visible line to form in the "test result"
region.
If
present in the sample, the drug will compete with
the immobilized drug-protein conjugate for the limited
binding sites on the antibody-dye conjugate. When
a sufficient amount of the drug is present, it saturates
the antibodies, and the antibody-dye conjugate cannot
bind to the drug conjugate in the "test result"
region. No visible line will form, indicating that
the drug concentration is approximately equal to
or above the cutoff level shown in the above chart.
TEST PROCEDURE
The test procedure consists of collecting urine
in the cup and closing the lid to activate the test.
The RapidCup.com test cup is truly the no-step drug
test device. Wait for approx. 5 minutes and the
results appear on the side of the test cup. For
a demonstration and step by step instructions click
here.
READING RESULTS
Reading Results on the RapidCup.com Integrated
Test Cup

 |
Negative:
Two colored lines appear adjacent to each other
in the test window. This indicates that no
drug above the cut-off level has been detected.
The test line intensity may be any shade of pink
and weaker or stronger than that of the control
line. Since a negative sample may give a faint
or incomplete line, any line in the "test
result" area, no matter how faint or even
incomplete, indicates a negative result. All tests
are independent of each other, it is not recommended
to compare the results or color intensity of the
test lines. |
 |
Positive:
Only one colored line appears in the "test
valid" region. No test line appears in
the "test result" region. A positive
result for a specific analyte will have a line
only in the "test valid" region of a
test window. |
 |
No
Results: If a line does not develop in
the "test valid" region of a test window,
no results should be interpreted for that test.
Improper testing procedures, sample tampering
or deterioration of reagents probably occurred.
Adulterants added to urine specimens may produce
erroneous results regardless of the testing method
of analysis. If adulteration is suspected, obtain
another sample and test again. |
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
The RapidCup has been designed to detect an average
of 300 ng/ml or more for opiates or its metabolites
in urine. The accuracy of the RapidCup was evaluated
in comparison to a commercially available immunoassay.
The RapidCup performed with over 99% agreement.
For THC, methamphetamine, and amphetamine there
was 100% agreement. For opiates and PCP, there was
97.7% agreement. For cocaine metabolite there was
a 95.5% agreement.
In a separate study, the
RapidCup was evaluated for precision results by
testing positive and negative controls in 7 runs
performed each day over 5 days (total of 35 samples).
The two operators independently tested the controls
and the results were compared. The results showed
complete agreement; ie, the RapidCup showed 100%
precision results.

Test

SPECIFICITY / CUT-OFF LEVELS
The RapidCup.com AutoSplit is
designed and calibrated to produce a "positive"
result when the following cut-off levels of drug
metabolites in the urine are detected:
| DRUG |
Detection Levels (ng/mL) |
| Amphetamine (AMP) |
1000 |
| Barbiturates (BAR) |
300 |
| Benzodiazepines (BZO) |
300 |
| Cocaine (COC) |
300 |
| Marijuana (THC) |
50 |
| Methadone (MTD) |
300 |
| Methamphetamine (mAMP) |
1000 |
| Morphine (MOP 300 or OPI
300) |
300 |
| Opiates/Heroin (OPI) |
2000 |
| Phencyclidine (PCP) |
25 |
| Tricyclic (TCA) |
1000 |
The National Institute on Drug
Abuse has suggested that the screening cut-off for
positive samples be 300 ng/ml for opiates.
DRUG DETECTION TIMES
There are no hard and fast rules for determining
how long drug metabolites remain present in your
system. Variables that affect drug detection times
include weight, percentage of body fat, metabolism,
frequency, dosage and duration of drug use.
Below is a table that provides data on average
drug detection rates in urine.

*Marijuana has been reliably detected in individuals
up to thirty days after use. There have been reports
that marijuana has been detected in heavy users up
to 57 days after the last use. The variability in
detection times is dependant upon weight, percentage
of body fat, metabolism, frequency, dosage and duration
of drug use.
